After FURIA's victory over MIBR at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, YEKINDAR made it clear in a post-match interview with host James Banks that he is no longer the team's primary caller – and that he has no desire to be one going forward.

"I'm not calling anymore, and hopefully I won't be doing it in the future," the Latvian player explained, pointing to the physiological strain as the decisive reason: the role simply produced too much cortisol, and he has no interest in continuing as IGL.

FURIA had for a period been trialling YEKINDAR on select maps – including Cache, Anubis and Ancient – as a possible solution to the gap that will arise when FalleN steps away from his playing career at the end of the year. FalleN himself announced his retirement to thousands of fans in a Brazilian arena earlier this year and has since resumed full IGL responsibilities.

YEKINDAR did clarify, however, that he can still contribute as a secondary caller on individual maps if he feels he is reading the game particularly well. The overall direction and tactical decisions are, however, 100 percent back in FalleN's hands.

With that, the question of FURIA's future IGL remains unanswered. The team must find a permanent solution when FalleN plays his final match after the Major in Singapore – and YEKINDAR is not the answer.
