HOTU's flawless Tesla Cup victory sends B8 down to 12% and closes the Major field
HOTU's map-flawless RLG Tesla Cup victory lifted the team's calculated Major chance to 73.3%, while B8 dropped to 12% and Luminosity and Envy are out of realistic contention.

HOTU's map-flawless run through the RLG Tesla Cup 2026 has not only secured the team a trophy – it has concretely reshaped the qualification landscape for PGL Major Singapore 2026.
By winning every series 2-0, including the final victory over GamerLegion with 13-6 on Dust2 and 13-9 on Nuke, HOTU earned 104 new ranking points and moved 12 places up in HLTV's projection model to 1,477 points. That lifted the team's calculated Major qualification chance to 73.3% – a significant improvement from the far more uncertain position they held before the tournament.
That rise has direct consequences for their competitors. B8 are hit hardest: the loss to FaZe cost the team a crucial opportunity, and HLTV's model reduced their Major chance to around 12%. Luminosity and Envy have both fallen out of realistic contention following early exits. FaZe, on the other hand, secured a spot at the Major after adding enough ranking points to remove the remaining uncertainty – a third-place finish that further narrows the field HOTU must navigate.
The individual breadth of HOTU's performance underlines that the run does not rest on a single player. Dmitry "mizu" Kondratev dominated Dust2 with 24 kills and a map rating of 2.40, while David "n0rb3r7" Danielyan took control on Nuke with a rating of 1.69 and 23 kills on that map. Across the entire final, mizu finished on 40 kills, 100.5 ADR and an overall rating of 1.64, while Aleksandr "dwushka" Pakhnevich and Kim "frontales" Argunov both ended above 1.00 in rating.
Even so, 73.3% is not a guarantee. HOTU have one tournament stop remaining before the invitation deadline: GLuck Moscow Cyber Games 2026, which begins on 31 October. A weak performance there could reopen the door for teams that are not yet out of the picture.
