Aurora Gaming assembles one of EMEA's strongest non-partnered Valorant rosters
Aurora Gaming debuts in Valorant with a roster consisting of Derke, Boo, trexx, B1SK, and chiwa. Without partner status, the team must fight their way through EMEA's open qualifiers starting in November in order to reach EMEA Kickoff.

Aurora Gaming has made its entrance into Valorant with a roster that instantly places the organisation among the most ambitious non-partnered teams in the EMEA region. The lineup consists of Derke, Boo, trexx, B1SK, and chiwa – five players with extensive VCT experience across the region's top organisations.
The organisation's CEO Adalyat Mamedov described the process as unusually swift: negotiations, players, and contracts all fell into place within just a few days, with signatures reportedly coming minutes before the deadline for qualifier registration.
It is precisely that context that gives the roster its particular significance. Under VCT's new open model, partnership status is no longer a guarantee of access to the highest levels of competition. Aurora Gaming must instead fight their way through the open qualifiers in EMEA, beginning in November, with the goal of securing one of two EMEA Qualifier spots for EMEA Kickoff. It is a path that demands consistent performance rather than institutional security.
The roster's composition reflects clear role-based intentions. Derke is expected to play Duelist, likely alongside B1SK in the same role. Boo, who has served as in-game leader in the Controller role at Team Heretics for four seasons, is expected to take on the same function. trexx, who has evolved from Duelist to Initiator, and chiwa, who is expected to fill the Sentinel role, complete a team with depth across all positions. The team's head coach has not yet been announced.
That Aurora – an organisation with a presence in titles such as Apex Legends and Counter-Strike 2 – chooses to invest in a roster of this calibre without partner status sends a clear signal: the organisation is betting that sporting quality alone can pave the way to the top of the EMEA scene.
