w0nderful carries NAVI on his back: AWP dominance crushes Falcons on Inferno and Ancient
iM called his teammates 'four children in w0nderful's backpack' after the victory over Falcons. The AWP player's 1.58 rating and 59 kills were decisive for NAVI's 2-1 advancement to the IEM Beijing playoffs.

When NAVI lost Ancient 11-13 to Falcons and had their backs against the wall at IEM Beijing 2026, it was one player who pulled the team forward again. Mihai "iM" Ivan summed it up afterwards with a remark that the rest of the team were like four children in w0nderful's backpack – a characterisation that says everything about what the Ukrainian AWP player meant for the two decisive maps.
On Inferno, Falcons' own map pick, w0nderful set the tone from the first round. Falcons started on the T-side and quickly fell behind 1-8, and according to coach zonic, it was precisely that kind of early collapse that can destroy an entire team's match structure. w0nderful exploited it to the fullest: he ended as the top fragger on Inferno with 25 kills, a rating of 2.25, and the best CT-side rating of 2.54. NAVI won the map 13-4 and never let Falcons breathe.
On Ancient, where Falcons had otherwise won 13-11, w0nderful had already shown his class with 27 kills and a rating of 1.80 – best on the server. The fact that NAVI lost that map despite this underlines that his performance alone was not enough to close out the match there, but it laid the foundation for what followed.
Across the entire series, w0nderful finished with 59 kills, 93.7 ADR, and an overall rating of 1.58 – surpassed only by b1t's 1.78, but with the most kills and the highest overall impact according to iM. His tournament rating of 1.45 places him among the best-performing players in Beijing.
For Falcons, the defeat illustrated exactly the pattern zonic has described as the season's biggest problem: when the opening rounds go wrong, communication and patience disappear, and opponents like NAVI punish it immediately. w0nderful's AWP play was not merely statistically dominant – it was the concrete mechanism that locked Falcons out of the playoffs.
