Weibo Gaming beat Dplus KIA 7-3 in Osaka and keep upper bracket track open

Weibo Gaming confirmed their role as one of the strongest teams at BLAST R6 Major Osaka 2026 when, on Friday 6 November, they defeated Dplus KIA 7-3 on the map Bank in Upper Bracket Quarterfinal 1. The victory is not merely a single match win – it secures Weibo Gaming continued life in the upper bracket and keeps them on track towards the Swiss Stage.

The ranking gap between the two teams was significant. Weibo Gaming arrived in Osaka as number two in the Elo power rankings with a rating of 1845 and an overall record of 62-18 across 80 rated matches. Dplus KIA came in as number 16 with a rating of 1701 and a record of 66-46 across 112 matches. In a best-of-one format, where the match lasted 45 minutes, there was no opportunity to correct mistakes.

Dplus KIA arrived in Osaka with momentum from the Asia Pacific League APAC North Stage 2, where they had won four matches in a row: two 2-0 victories over CAG by VARREL as well as a 2-1 and a 1-0 against SCARZ. That winning streak ended here against a team that on paper is clearly stronger. Weibo's Wu "Reeps96" Weichen dominated the match with a SiegeGG rating of 1.80 and a KPR of 1.50, closely followed by teammates Aldi "Hovenherst" Firmansyah and Park "Gotti" Geon-woo with ratings of 1.26 and 1.25 respectively.

For the tournament picture in Osaka, the result means that Weibo Gaming now await the next round in the upper bracket. DarkZero Esports have already advanced to the Swiss Stage after victories over TYLOO and LOS and have since beaten LOS 2-0 in Upper Bracket Semifinal 2 – becoming the first team to win twice in the Osaka bracket. Virtus.pro defeated KINGZERO eSports 7-1 on Lair on the same day and are likewise still in contention. The tournament runs until 15 November.
