20-year-old Lukas 'Etyy' Vinder has settled in well with the XI team after becoming the new member of a squad that has otherwise played together for a long time at the start of the season.
In an interview with Esport House, the secondary anchor shares his experience of joining an established team:
"It's obviously incredibly exciting to join a team that has played together for such a long time. I already knew them a bit because I had already been on a tryout with them before, so it wasn't entirely new,"
explains Etyy.
Warmly Welcomed by Teammates
Despite concerns about finding his place on the team, Etyy has experienced an exceptional welcome from his new teammates:
"They are super nice guys, both on the server and off the server, so it's probably been one of the warmest welcomes I've ever received on a team before. We've also met at bootcamp and stuff like that, and they are super nice guys to talk to."
Strong Start to the Season
XI has had an impressive start to the season in the Esportligaen's small division. The team started by going 8-0 in the first half of the season, placing them at the top of the table.
However, the team has faced some challenges recently:
"We started by going 8-0 in our first half of the season, and then we've just hit three unfortunate matches, but we still think we should be in the playoffs,"
says Etyy optimistically.
Goal of Playoffs
Despite recent losses, the XI team is still confident about qualifying for the playoffs. With the remaining matches next week, Etyy is positive about the team's chances:
"We immediately think we should win those matches. They are not the toughest teams we have to face. I think we should probably take them and still be in, yes, maybe first place, but maybe also second place."
After four months on the team, Etyy seems to have found his place, and with the playoffs in sight, the future looks bright for XI in the Esportligaen.
