Frederik 'Tornex' Fjellfors and the rest of the Prestige team are in a crucial phase of the Esports League, where they are ranked sixth on the table and fighting for a playoff spot. The 23-year-old entry fragger, who has played Counter-Strike for 10 years but only really delved into team play in the last six to twelve months, is optimistic on behalf of the team.
Challenges with Player Rules
Prestige has experienced turbulence throughout the season with several player changes, which have affected their performances in the league. Tornex explains that the team has had to play with stand-ins due to the esports league's rules. 'There have been quite a few changes on the team, even before I joined. I haven't played a single match with the team in the esports league because there was a rule that you couldn't play with stand-ins. You had to play with the original team that was registered at the start,' explains Tornex. Therefore, the team has only played one or two matches with their actual lineup and the rest with stand-ins, which has naturally affected their results.
Confidence After EPIC LAN Success
Despite the challenges, the mood in the team is good. Prestige recently participated in EPIC LAN in England with satisfactory results, as well as having 'okay success' in the Power League. 'I think everyone expects us to win because we feel that we are really good. There are no negative things, no mega terms,' says the Danish player.
Big Ambitions for the Playoffs
If Prestige manages to secure a playoff spot, the team has big ambitions. Tornex is not afraid to set the bar high: 'Yes, we expect to win it all. We hope to win it all. The teams that are competitors to us in the playoffs, or just in general, are teams we've beaten before - teams we can beat again.' With the upcoming matches ahead, Prestige aims to play their own game and leverage the experiences from their recent tournament participations to secure the coveted playoff spot.
