Siuhy as a potential Astralis IGL: What it takes to reinvent yourself
Astralis is, according to HLTV, considering siuhy as a replacement for HooXi, whose contract expires at the end of the year. The Polish IGL leaves Liquid with a rating of 0.87 and must now prove his leadership in a new organisation under time pressure.

Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek has, according to reports from HLTV, moved to the top of Astralis' list of possible replacements for Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen, whose contract expires at the end of the year. It is a candidacy that raises just as many questions as it answers.
Siuhy's time at Liquid was marked by adversity. He concluded his stint with a rating of 0.87 over 185 maps, and his leadership was continuously scrutinised. Now he enters free agency and faces a choice that is largely about identity: Can he convince a new organisation that he is a different IGL than the one Liquid gave up on?
For Astralis, the situation is pressured. Negotiations with HooXi, Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard and Victor "Staehr" Staehr have all hit a wall, and jabbi's contract expires as early as November. The organisation is, according to sources, trying to avoid players leaving the club for free, and reportedly hopes that two changes will be enough to keep Staehr in the fold.
In that context, siuhy is not merely a leadership choice – he is a compromise under time pressure. Astralis has just had a strong autumn season with a victory at Stake Ranked Episode 4 and a top-four finish at Stake Pulse Beat II, and the team has nearly secured a spot at the PGL Singapore Major. Bringing in an IGL with siuhy's baggage requires that he not only adapts to a new organisation, but actively proves that the Liquid period was the exception rather than the norm.
That is precisely the kind of reinvention that is possible in CS – but it is rarely guaranteed.
