Astralis without a Danish majority for the first time: An identity shift with concrete consequences
For the first time, Astralis have no Danish majority on the team following the signings of siuhy and cmtry. With only Staehr remaining as a Dane, the organisation loses its Danish flag and breaks with its historical identity as a Danish CS collective.

For the first time in Astralis' CS history, the organisation is without a Danish majority on the roster. This is not a marginal adjustment – it is a break with the self-understanding that has defined the team since its golden era of four Major titles won with an all-Danish lineup.
With the official signings of Polish Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and Ukrainian Mykyta "cmtry" Samolotov as replacements for the benched Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard, Victor "Staehr" Staehr is now the only Dane in the starting lineup. The direct consequence is that Astralis loses its Danish flag on the roster card – a concrete marker that the organisation no longer meets the conditions for calling itself a Danish team.
siuhy, who is 24 years old and Polish, takes over the IGL role and joined as a free transfer after Team Liquid released him on 2 October. His contract with Astralis is permanent. cmtry, a 19-year-old Ukrainian, was an AWP player at FUT, but switches to a rifler role at Astralis. It is not yet known whether his contract is permanent or a loan deal.
The question of brand and identity is not abstract. Astralis have secured a spot at PGL Singapore Major with the previous lineup, and the two new players must play five matches before the cutoff date in order to appear on Major stickers. That task begins when the team makes its debut against Sashi at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm – notably another Danish organisation that has itself recently changed its national composition significantly.
Filip "NEO" Kubski continues as coach.
