FURIA return to Hong Kong as defending champions – but the field is stronger than ever

FURIA arrive at BLAST Premier Rivals Hong Kong 2026 with a special burden on their shoulders: the title of defending champions. The Brazilian team won the first edition of the tournament in 2025 by defeating Falcons 3-1 in the final, and now they must defend that trophy in a field that leaves little room for error.

The tournament runs from 11 to 15 November at AsiaWorld-Arena and brings together eight teams, all invited on the basis of the VRS rankings from October. The prize pool is 1 million US dollars. The format is compact: two double-elimination groups of four teams each, followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket and a best-of-five final.

It is precisely the format's compactness that makes defending the title especially demanding. With only eight teams in the field, there are no easy opponents to build momentum against. Spirit and Vitality are regarded as the most obvious threats to FURIA, while Falcons – who lost the final in 2025 – return with a clear motive. MOUZ and G2 are likewise teams that can realistically go far in the tournament.

For FURIA, it is not merely a matter of winning again, but of doing so in a field where almost any team can eliminate them in a single series. The tournament's structure means that an early loss in the group stage immediately increases the pressure, and there is no buffer in the form of weaker opponents. Both Brazilian teams – FURIA and Legacy – are present, but it is FURIA who carry the weight of expectations.

With Falcons, Spirit and Vitality all in attendance, it is hard to imagine a more challenging scenario for a team defending a title. BLAST has assembled a field in which the story from 2025 can repeat itself – or be broken entirely.
