In less than 11 hours, hell breaks loose in Danish Counter-Strike 2.
The NCS tournament opens its doors, and the country's best teams are already on their way to the venue, ready to compete for the prestigious Glass Trophy and a coveted blue championship star. In Group B, a true clash of the titans awaits.
Defending champions Invicta enter the tournament as top favorites with in-game leader Artie at the helm, and they naturally aim for another star to add to their collection.
But hot on their heels is their well-known nemesis: Avanti, who won the very first NCS edition and comes in with great confidence after a strong A-Playoff performance in ESEA Intermediate. Avanti's rise is primarily driven by 14-year-old Lynch, a young talent who continues to impress with a maturity and consistency far beyond his years.
With both Invicta and Avanti placed in the same group, sparks may fly right from the start - the two top favorites will test each other's form from the very first moment. On the opposite side of the bracket, we find Group A, where underdogs have the chance to surprise.
Olgod Efterskole and Evo Novo enter as outsiders, but both teams carry stories worth following. Olgod has long been known as a talent factory but is now seeking a comeback after a disappointing Dust2 Powerleague season that ended in relegation.
With a refreshed lineup and renewed motivation, they hope that NCS can mark the beginning of their resurgence. Evo Novo, on the other hand, appears in exceptional form - they lost only one map throughout their Powerleague regular season and ended with an impressive +129 round differential.
Their dominance culminated in a clean 2-0 trophy victory over Unsigned Whiffers, and now they aim to convert that momentum into their first NCS star. Future Gaming and eSpuma could very well deliver the year's big surprise story.
As the players are set to part ways after the tournament, this will be their last chance to finish on a high note.
As any LAN veteran knows - anything can happen at LAN. Unsigned always takes on the role of the wildcard with a mixed lineup built around the strongest players in their system.
They surprised everyone last season with a honeymoon run to the upper-bracket final, driven by explosive performances from ChrisAzz.
Although he is no longer with the team, the roster is now led by Season 1 EVP Troski, and no one makes the mistake of underestimating them again. Ex-Frogiz, appearing under the Powerstats.dk banner for this event, aims to regain form after narrowly avoiding relegation in Powerleague 2.
Division.
With Ekke, a Season 1 finalist, as captain, they fight to surprise the critics and prove they are better than their recent results suggest. The stage is set.
The pressure is rising.
And the trophy awaits.
Tune in Friday at 20:00 for the first group matches and the beginning of what promises to be the most competitive NCS to date.
