The nerves are buzzing, and the atmosphere is completely different from online tournaments. Folke is ready for one of the season's biggest finals where the Prestige team faces Preasy, where he and his team will meet a new and unpredictable squad led by Mol011 and viggo.
"We've just about shown Mol011 the door, so to meet him in a final already, it's a bit early," Folke says with a laugh, but the seriousness shines through when the conversation turns to today's opponents.
New Opponents Require New Strategies
For Folke and the Prestige team, the final is not just another match. With viggo as the caller on the opposing team, they face a whole new challenge.
"These are new opponents, we haven't played against them before. They've brought in viggo, and I assume he's the one calling for them. So it's a completely new team in that sense with ideas and such, how they're going to play."
That's precisely why the team needs to adjust their usual approach. "We need to change something because both Mol011 and viggo, they play a special form of Counter-Strike. And you have to take that into account, otherwise, you'll just get run over," Folke explains.
LAN Atmosphere Makes All the Difference
After months of online tournaments, it's a relief for Folke to be back at a physical LAN event.
"Online becomes very much the same, very often. You don't really notice that you're playing important matches when it's online. But when it's at a LAN, it's something completely different," he says.
The nervousness is back, and it's exactly how Magnus 'Folke' wants it: "It's rare to be nervous, and I think it's great to be nervous about playing again. It's fantastic."
Dedication Behind the Success
Magnus' serious approach to the game is reflected in his daily routine. A typical day starts with deathmatch in the morning, followed by team practice from noon to late afternoon, and ends with a run at 10 PM.
For those who dream of reaching the same level, Folke has clear advice:
"It's all about putting in the hours. Keep going, and just put in more hours. There's always someone putting in more hours than you. So if you choose to try to give up the dream, you also have to ask yourself: have I put in all the hours I can?"
The Physical Aspect
For Folke, the daily runs are not just exercise - they are mentally necessary.
"If you've been out for a good run, you can hardly be angry when you get home again," he laughs. "I think they help a lot with clearing your head if you've had a bad day at practice."
Ready for the Showdown
Despite the "strange mix of people" on the opposing team, as Folke describes it, he is optimistic about the outcome.
"I think we'll take the victory, hopefully," he says with a confident smile.
With nerves at the right level and a clear strategy to tackle Mol011 and viggo's special playstyle, Folke and the Prestige team are ready to deliver in a final that promises to be memorable.
