Vitality top of ESL Pro League Season 24: From controlled quarterfinal to dominant final victory

Vitality navigated an almost flawless path through the playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 24 and lifted the trophy at Spodek Arena after a 3-0 final victory over MOUZ.

The journey began in the quarterfinal against PARIVISION, which Vitality dispatched 2-0. On PARIVISION's own map pick, Inferno, it was total dominance: Vitality won 11 rounds in a row and closed out the map 13-2. On Dust2 it was closer – PARIVISION came back from 0-6 and kept the game open deep into the second half – but ZywOo decided the match with an aggressive triple kill that stopped the comeback and secured a 13-10 win.

The semifinal against Aurora produced a reverse sweep. Aurora took the first map, Anubis, 13-7, driven by a strong defensive performance from woxic. Vitality responded on Cache, where ZywOo posted a 2.36 rating – according to sources the highest Cache rating of his career – and won 13-7. On the decisive Mirage, Vitality opened with a 7-1 run, and although Aurora fought back, ZywOo closed out the match with a triple kill in round 21 to seal the final score 13-8.

The final against MOUZ was the most convincing performance. Vitality won Cache 13-8 and Inferno 13-7 comfortably, and even on Dust2, where MOUZ won both pistol rounds and reached match point at 12-9, Vitality turned the map around with three rounds in a row and won in overtime 16-12.

The statistics underline Vitality's superiority: ZywOo, ropz and flameZ were the three best players in the entire tournament with ratings of 1.44, 1.41 and 1.30 respectively – the only three players above 1.30. As a team, Vitality finished with an overall rating of 1.20, well ahead of MOUZ at 1.10. The pattern was consistent: Vitality dominated when they were at their best, and found individual decisive moments when opponents applied pressure.
